Testing
Before starting any therapy, we perform lab testing to ensure treatments are safe and beneficial. While many men and women eventually benefit from hormone or other therapies, proper testing determines the best approach for each individual. We also provide additional options to help you live your healthiest, most vibrant life.
Responsibility
We follow strict safety guidelines: testosterone is not provided to healthy men with high-normal levels, and a thorough history is taken, from both men and women, prior to making the decision to start hormone therapy.
Meet Our Nurse Practitioner
Barbie Townsell
Barbie Townsell has been a Family Nurse Practitioner, nationally certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), since 2014. She started her career as an LPN in 1984. She continued her journey, receiving her associate degree in nursing from Floyd Junior College, her bachelor’s degree from University of West Georgia, and ultimately, her master’s degree/Family NP from University of Alabama at Birmingham. She worked at FMC ER in various roles for most of her career. She was also a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner for 20 years.
After obtaining her master’s/FNP-C, she practiced Family Medicine with FMC Primary Care. She worked as a primary care provider for three years before realizing she missed the hospital environment.
She worked at Atrium Polk Medical Center for 8 years until she retired, to focus on her current business. She is looking forward to using her experience to improve the lives of people outside of the traditional healthcare setting. Barbie is also a US Navy veteran and lives in Cave Spring.
